There are several different treatments we can carry out on your property, dependant on the sources and causes of your particular damp problem. The most frequently used are explained below;
Chemical Injection Damp Proof Course
The injection of special stearates under pressure into the base core 'tula' or brick. The solvent based carrying agent in the fluid carries the stearates into the brick to full saturation, therefore setting up an effective barrier against any moisture rising from the ground. Affected plaster or render may have to be removed before injection and a salt inhibitor treatment is usually carried out before replastering.
The chemical injection fluid we use is now manufactured in Turkey to strict UK specifications.
Salt Inhibitor Treatment
Hygroscopic salts are introduced by damp from the ground and this causes the problem of bubbling plaster and paintwork. We can carry out a 'salt inhibitor treatment' which effectively stops the salts already present in the building going off in search of other sources of moisture. Typically this process is carried out in conjunction with the chemical damp proof course.
Tanking
Usually carried out where higher ground levels exist and typically involves the removal of the affected plaster or render, a salt inhibitor treatment and several applications of cementicious tanking medium to coat the walls before replastering.
Each property will have a different damp problem and therefore need a solution tailored to suit. We can provide expert advice and an effective 'one time' solution to your damp problems. Please contact us for a free survey, report and quotation....
